The Resort Report
11/18/2011 The St. Regis Aspen Resort officially reopened the doors on November 7th, 2011 with twenty remodeled rooms. As the days and weeks progress the number of renovated rooms will increase culminating with the completion of the $40 million renovation around the beginning of 2012.
The restaurant/event space is scheduled for reopening on November 23rd, 2011 with the pool and hot tub area opening shortly thereafter.
10/31/2011 With the reopening a week away the renovation is reaching the final stretch. Over the past month many projects have been completed or are soon to be completed. The lobby area welcomes new lighting fixtures, grand staircase, and courtyard entrances. A new library has materialized adjacent to the elevator bank and Aspen Room, and the previous restaurant space has been completely remodeled.
Exterior features included a newly resurfaced pool, hot tubs, and pool deck along with newly refilled planters, snow melt system and front drive.
09/16/2011 The rooms continue to show progress as each block undergoes the construction process. The second temporary closure is rapidly approaching which will allow the construction team to pick up pace on the rooms as well as finish the public areas of the resort in time for ski season.
The new pool deck and courtyard were recently poured and need several days to cure before finishing touches can be applied.
08/15/2011 Most of the construction is occurring behind the scenes and within the guest rooms. Demolition, electrical and HVAC rough-in, plumbing, drywall, and tiling are occurring simultaneously, though in different sections of the resort.
The pool deck and upper courtyard have been cleard and snow-melt is currently being laid to prevent snow and ice build-up during the winter.
07/20/2011 As the renovation progresses, it has been determined that The St. Regis Aspen Resort will temporarily close its doors again to be able to complete this compelling and captivating journey before the 2011 and 2012 ski season. The dates of the closure will be September 26th - November 7th.
Currently most construction is limited to the pool area as well as several blocks of rooms; however, during the next temporary closure the grand staircase, front entry, and several other public spaces will be addressed.
06/09/2011 Construction for the first phase of the remodel is wrapping up. The new front desk and bell stand now allows for greater guest interaction while the concierge desk will offer a more intimate setting for guest assistance. Paint is being applied, lighting is going up, and the final touches are being executed for the reopen in five days.
05/16/2011 Most of the plumbing has been completed and drywall is being hung. The once interior wall skeletons have been enclosed in drywall providing a greater sense of form and function. The new concierge desk and library are starting to take shape.
05/05/2011 Most demolition has been completed. The main focus currently is tending to the rough out of pipes and electrical wiring. Several interior wall skeletons have been erected giving the new visual flow of the lobby, Shadow Mountain Lounge, and new library.
04/15/2011 Teams of construction workers have descended on the hotel and demolition is well underway. Walls have been torn down, furnishings have been removed, and the interworking of the building is now visible.
03/24/2011 Photos of the model rooms are now available!
03/03/2011 First stages of the renovation are unveiled. A model Deluxe King and a Deluxe Double Bedrooms are completed! Though, changes and modifications will ultimately be made, one can sense the general style and layout Rottet Studios envisions for the St. Regis Aspen Resort.
